Pam Buckway (b. 1949)
Pam Buckway was born in Whitehorse and was a radio announcer for CBC North before entering politics. In 1999, she ran as a Liberal and won a by-election for the Lake Laberge seat in the Yukon Legislative Assembly. She was elected again in 2000 and served as Minister of Community and Transportation Services in Pat Duncan’s government. Buckway was defeated by Brad Cathers of the Yukon Party in 2002.1)
