Robert Mills “Bert” Blair (b. 1876)

Bert Blair was from Chicoutimi, Quebec. He was the mining recorder at Forty Mile and Dawson in 1898.1) Robert Mills Blair was living with his wife in Vancouver in 1915 when he enlisted for service in the First World War. He put down his occupation as lumber, timber, etc. The archival records show him with a rank of major.2) He fought with the Vancouver Seaforths.3) Blair returned to Canada after the war with the rank of Colonel. The Blair Rifle Range in North Vancouver was named for him after he won a Bisley shooting competition.4)
