Charlie Chief

Charlie Chief's father, Charlie Cho', also called Charlie Chief, was a respected Kaska leader and elder who lived in the Frances Lake region. His mother was Jennie Chief (nee Bob), the daughter of Old Bob. Charlie Chief was married to Mary Tsiga, the daughter of Willie and Dot Tsiga and they have six children. Charlie Chief's father was a Kaska man who walked from Ross River. His father, Nezeda Dick, was called Chief or Old Chief. He once lived at Money Creek by Frances Lake. Chief Charlie (junior) lived along the Hyland River at one time. From there they went to the mouth of the Frances River and ended up at Portage Landing.1)
