Ernest Frank Richardson Carey (1873 – 1950)

Ernest Frank Richardson Carey was born in London, England. Constable Carey was a North-West Mounted Police officer at the Dawson Town Station in 1899. Carey was mining in the Dawson region in July 1916 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.1) He was recruited by Captain George Black and was in England by August 1917.2) Private Carey returned to the Yukon after the war. In 1927 he was a member of the combined War Veterans Dawson Club and the Canadian Legion.3) E. F. Carey is buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Dawson.4)
