Lulu Alice Craig

Lulu Craig was teaching in Saint Joseph, Missouri in 1898. She obtained a leave of absence in January of that year to travel to the Yukon with her brother and his wife and nine-year-old daughter.1) Craig opened a private elementary school in Dawson in a Church of England building in September 1898.2) She wrote a self-published book about her year in Dawson and her travels to and from the Yukon called Glimpses of Sunshine and Shade in the Far North or My Travels in the land of the Midnight Sun, published in 1900.
