Malina Jane “Linch” Curry, nee Van Bibber (1927 – 2020)

Linch Curry was the second youngest of Eliza and Ira Van Bibber’s fifteen children. She grew up on the land and had many adventures hunting, fishing, and trapping with her family on the Pelly, Yukon, and Macmillan rivers. She was a long-time board member of Dana Nye Ventures, served on the Selkirk First Nation Council and with the Selkirk Renewable Resources Council. She was an artist and was a member of the artist’s guild. She and brother Alex taught the trappers’ course. She married Bob Curry and they had two sons, David and Wayne, and they all predeceased her. Linch Curry spent her last years at Copper Ridge Place in Whitehorse.1)
