John A. Davies (1885 – 1987)

John Davies was born in Kidsgrove Staffordshire, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1909 and studied at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. He was ordained in April 1913 and became the rector of Dawson’s St. Paul's Anglican Church.¹⁾

Reverend J. A. Davies was recruited by Captain George Black to serve in the First World War.²⁾ He was the rector of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in June 1918 when he left Dawson for military duty.³⁾ After the war, he returned to Ontario where he served in various communities until his retirement in 1956.⁴⁾
