Thomas Doyle (d. 1938)
Tom Doyle was a bartender in Dawson (Bonanza Saloon) and was among the first to rush into the Chisana goldfields. He partnered with Andy Taylor and staked Bonanza #14 in 1913. He also had property on Glacier Creek.1)
Tommy Doyle was the owner of the Occidental Hotel in Dawson. He was an old timer and a member of the Yukon Order of Pioneers (YOOP). On his death, the bar was closed in his honour but the pall bearers went in the back door. The horse-drawn hearse left for the cemetery with the pall bearers staggering behind. A short time later the whole procession came back down as no-one had thought about how to dig a grave in February. The interment was a few days later.2)
