John Fax

John Fax owned a two-acre farm on Klondike Island. His neighbour, Hanry Daum, had a one-acre farm. Fax had 5,000 head of cabbage, 1000 celery plants and half an acre in potatoes. He also has a ton of carrots and lots of radishes, green onions, lettuce and other small truck. The Dawson newspaper reported that he kept four tons for winter use.1) A 1901 photograph, sold as a postcard, shows [brothers?] Nicholas and John Fax in their vegetable garden on an island in the Yukon River.2)
