Jack Fox
Jack Fox was a mail carrier from Skagway to Whitehorse and in the Southern Lakes. He was carrying a letter from the Engineer Mine to Atlin in the spring when the ice on Tutshi Lake was rotten. He rounded a bluff and the ice gave way under him and his dog team. His body was never found but the search party found that he had tied the letter to one of his snowshoes and shoved it away over the ice. A white cross marked the place where he died.1)
