Arnold F. George

Arnold George arrived in Skagway in 1899 and was initiated into the Arctic Brotherhood during the association’s first meeting in their new hall. He was given authority to create camps outside of Skagway. Camp No. 4 was established in Dawson in November 1899 and the first meeting drew only four men. It took a while but eventually it became one of the longest lasting Arctic Brotherhood camps. The first officers were Arnold George, J.E. Fitzpatrick, E.J. “Stroller” White, Rudy Kalenborn, Max Kollm, Dr. Everett, Fred Atwood, L. Orville Wilcoxen, and Henry Fulda.1)
