Daniel B. Gleeson (b. 1871)

Dan Gleeson was born in Ireland.1) He came into the country in 1897 and was a member of the Yukon Order of Pioneers in 1915. He was a miner on Sulphur Creek in 1916 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.2) Gleeson was recruited as a sergeant by Captain George Black in Dawson and was in England by August 1917.3) The Canadian Yukon Patriotic Fund loaned returned soldier G. Gleeson $500 on 20 October 1919 to purchase an outfit for winter’s mining.4) Returned soldier Gleeson registered for employment on March 1, 1920.5) Daniel Gleeson was at Keno Hill in the 1920s.6)
