Daniel B. Gleeson (b. 1871)

Dan Gleeson was born in Ireland.¹⁾ He came into the country in 1897 and was a member of the Yukon Order of Pioneers in 1915. He was a miner on Sulphur Creek in 1916 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.²⁾ Gleeson was recruited as a sergeant by Captain George Black in Dawson and was in England by August 1917.³⁾ The Canadian Yukon Patriotic Fund loaned returned soldier G. Gleeson $500 on 20 October 1919 to purchase an outfit for winter’s mining.⁴⁾ Returned soldier Gleeson registered for employment on March 1, 1920.⁵⁾ Daniel Gleeson was at Keno Hill in the 1920s.⁶⁾
