Andrew Harper

Andrew Harper applied for land in the vicinity of the mouth of the Klondike River for a townsite. His was one of six applications to purchase land. Harper's application, dated November 1896, with survey fee paid, was applied for by Stewart Menzies, an employee of the Alaska Commercial Co. Menzies had a Power of Attorney from Harper to do this and it was Constantine's opinion that Menzies was a sharp operator working for the interests of the American company.¹⁾
