George Hatch (d. 1917)
George Hatch purchased an island in the Yukon River near Dawson in 1901. Hatch's Island is a large island separating Steamboat Slough, near Sunnydale, from the main channel of the Yukon River. Hatch had one of the most profitable farming operations near Dawson growing potatoes, grains, vegetables, hogs and chickens.1)
