Helen Othelia Harper
Reverend Helen O. Harper was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. She moved to Whitehorse in 1987 to serve as Lay Minister-in-Charge of St. Simon’s Anglican Church the Old Log Church] as well as chaplain to the prison and the Whitehorse hospital.1) In 1990, Helen was also the lay reader at the Church of the Northern Apostles and directed the Junior Choir. She worked as a corrections inspector at the prison.2)
Rev. Harper received a Master of Divinity in 1993 from the Vancouver School of Theology. She returned to the United States in 1998 and was ordained priest in 2003 in the Diocese of Newark.3)
