Joshua Hunt was a well-known pioneer of the Yukon and one of the most skilled. He mined for many years on Quartz Creek but also mined on Miller Creek where he was foreman for Collins & Weinburg, among the most successful miners in that district. The last few years of his life he was employed by the Holbrook Dredging Co. on their dredge on the Fortymile River. He died on the steamer Whitehorse as he was travelling out for medical attention.1)
