Else Koser, nee Dietz (1932 - 2018)
Else Koser was born in Frankish Crumbach, Germany to parents Peter and Katherine Dietz. She trained and worked as a seamstress until she married Werner Koser in 1956. They moved to Alberta where they started a family of three children. In 1965, the family moved to Ross River and established Koser Outfitters. In the early days the young children travelled with them in wall tents. Else was an excellent cook and created wonderful meals for family and crew on a wood stove. She added to supplies by picking berries and smoking meat and fish. She was known for her bread and special occasion butter cream tortes. Else remained active throughout her life with horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and swimming. She and Warner travelled the world.1)
