G. N. Kjar

Corporal Kjar, son of Mrs. and Mr. Them Kjar of Whitehorse, was home on leave in July 1951. He was with the 24th Division of the United States Army and one of the first to land in Korea in June 1950. He trained in Houston, Texas before going to Japan where he spent a year. He is believed to be the first Yukon soldier to return from Korea.¹⁾
