Heather Lynn Klassen, nee Munroe (1940 - 2015)

Heather Lynn Munroe was born in Dawson to Malcolm (Mac) and Lillian (Lil) Munroe - their second child. She married in 1961 and had two children, Dean and Melanie. She was a kindergarten teacher for many years. She and her husband operated Mayo Caselots with partners Shann and Jim Carmichael. They also mined on the creeks near Dawson. Many years later she returned to Dawson and bought the '98 Drive In before she decided to retire. She lived in many Yukon communities including Teslin and Mayo. She was skip of the Mayo curling team and they represented Yukon at the Nationals one year. Her grandsons, Brayden and Will, are competitive curlers. Her surviving sisters are Carol Pierce and Geraldine Van Bibber (Pat).1)
