Joseph Kyikavichik (1880 - 1972)
Reverend Joseph Kyikavichik was taught by Reverend Robert McDonald and became a catechist and then a lay minister in the Anglican Church.1) In 1918, Bishop Stringer asked Joseph to lead the services in Old Crow, and together with the missionaries who came and went, he carried on the work of the church for fifty years. He taught his children how to read Tukudh.2) Reverend Joseph Kyikavichik was ordained as an Anglican deacon in 1970 in Old Crow after serving fifty years as a catechist.3)
