Allan Lucier

Al Lucier was the Officer in Charge with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Reform Implementation Council in Ottawa from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in policing from the Charles Sturt University. He moved to Whitehorse in 2012 and spent almost two years as Corporate Management Officer with the RCMP, responsible for all corporate operations of the police in the Yukon. In 2014, he became private secretary to the Commissioner of the Yukon and Assistant Deputy Minister of Community Justice & Public Safety for the Yukon Government.1)

Lucier was instrumental in developing Yukon's cannabis legislation and participated in a number of interdisciplinary teams including the FASD strategy and the Safe at Home housing strategy. He retired from the government in 2020. In 2021, he replaced Brian Gillen for a three-year term as the chair of the Yukon Hospital Corporation’s board of trustees.2)

Al Lucier received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2003.3)
