Moira Lassen
Moira Lassen was president of the Yukon Weightlifting Association in 1995 and this gave her a seat on the Canadian Weightlifting Federation (CWFHC) Board of Directors. She was secretary general of the CWFHC from 2002 to 2008 and for much of that time was the only woman on the Board. In 2005, she was appointed to the scientific and research committee of the International Weightlifting Federation and in 2009 she was on the technical committee. She at junior and senior championships, the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, and was the sole woman officiating at the 2008 Olympics and the 2012 Games in London. Moira also served as chair of the Canadian Advancement of Women in Sport and the organization named her as one of twenty influential women in the sport.1)
