Bernard H. “Casey” Moran (1873 - 1933)

Casey Moran was born in California. He was training for the priesthood when he left the Brother’s School and travelled north. He was in Juneau before landing in Circle City, Alaska in 1896. He moved to Dawson during the Klondike stampede and worked with Elmer White at the Klondike Nugget. He was a writer with an imagination and reported the find of Noah’s Ark in the Koyukuk Country. He joined the stampede to Fairbanks and then moved to the Porcupine district in Ontario before travelling to Seattle, New York City, Chicago, Texas, Mexico, and finally Venezuela. He founded his own paper, The Tropical Sun, around 1926 and died in Venezuela in 1933.1)
