Lise Merchant

Lise Merchant was born in Quebec and moved to Whitehorse in 1981. Merchant is a largely self-taught artist working in stained glass. Her relatively large works have been commissioned to private homes and businesses and appear in the Yukon Government Permanent Art Collection, the Andrew Philipsen Law Centre, Anglican churches in Old Crow and Whitehorse, and the Whitehorse Visitors Reception Centre.1) Lise had to stop working with glass due to health problems and then became an accomplished artist in rug hooking.2)
