Sidney W. May (1907 - 1974)

Sidney May joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in November 1928.¹⁾ He was a member of the RCMP patrol that captured “Mad Trapper” Johnson in 1932.²⁾ He wrote a patrol report as a member of the pursuing posse called “Old Crow YT to Le Pierre House YT and return March 11, 1932.”³⁾

May was dismissed from the police in June 1933 for marrying without permission.⁴⁾ He worked for Yukon Consolidated Gold Corp for 32 years starting in 1934.⁵⁾ In 1966, he moved to Kamloops where he worked for Lornex Mines, again as a mechanic.⁶⁾
