Stephen Myers
Myers is said to have come into the Yukon in 1913 during the Chisana Gold Rush. He operated Myers Roadhouse approximately ten km north of Carmacks on the Freegold Road. The roadhouse was on the Overland Trail and the remains of two structures were found in 1997. Myers also ran Myers Woodlot to supply fuel for the Yukon River steamers.1) Stephan and Marie Myers operated a number of wood camps along the Yukon River in the Carmacks area. Murray Creek, 339 km from Whitehorse along the river, is known locally as Myers Creek.2)
