Angus Bernard “Sam” McEacheran (1876 – 1906)
Sam McEacheran was born in Chatham, New Brunswick. He learned the printer’s trade working in Chatham and later in New York. He came north in 1898 and joined A.M. Rousseau in 1900 to buy the Whitehorse Daily Star newspaper from P.F. Scharschmidt. Sam McEacheran and Josephine Holdinger of Tacoma married in 1903 and they had a two-year-old daughter when he died in 1906.1)
