Charles Walter Phillips (d. 1915)

Charles Phillips was born in London, England. He served with the North-West Mounted Police in Dawson and was a member of the Legion of Frontiersmen and the Loyal Order of Moose. When the First World War started, he returned to England and joined the 25th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. The battalion arrived in British East Africa in May 1915 and Phillips was killed in action during a fire fight. He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Allied Victory Medal. He is buried in the Voi Cemetery in Kenya.1)
