Frederick Price
Frederick Price was in the north mining for two years and went to the Klondike when he heard about the gold strike. He and his partner Harry McCullough located a claim on Bonanza Creek and Price brought $5,000 in gold dust with him when he travelled south on the Portland in 1897. Price and McCullough recovered a further $20,000 that they invested in more Klondike claims. Price refused an offer of $25,000 for his interest in the claim before he left Dawson for the winter. He planned to rejoin his partner in the spring after visiting his family in Seattle.1)
