Bliss Herbert Rogers (1878 – 1917)
Bliss Rogers was born in Moncton, New Brunswick. He farmed before he joined the North-West Mounted Police in April 1900. He trained in Regina and was posted to Dawson. He took his discharge from the police in April 1904 and mined on Livingstone Creek between 1911 and 1915.1) He was a millwright when he enlisted for service in the First World War.2) He joined the Yukon Infantry Company in Dawson in September 1916. In England he transferred to the Canadian Engineers and the 1st Tunnelling Company. Sapper Rogers was working on a road in Belgium when he was killed. He is buried in La Clytte Military Cemetery in Belgium.3)
