Clifford J. Rogers

Clifford Rogers was the vice-president and general manager of the White Pass & Yukon Route (YP&YR) prior to 1941, president and general manager from 1941 to around 1948, and president from then until 1951. After 1951, he continued as president and was also a member of the Board of Directors of the White Pass and Yukon Corporation Ltd. and its managing director. K.B. Hannan was the general manager from about 1948 to 1951 and then C.F. Abrams took over. White Pass & Yukon Route was not a legal entity but was instead a convenient way of describing four operating companies; three Canadian and one American: British Columbia Yukon Railway Co. (B.C.Y.R. Co.), British Yukon Railway Co. (B.Y.R. Co.), British Yukon Navigation Co. (B.Y.N. Co.) and the Pacific and Arctic Railway and Navigation Co. (P. & A.R. & N. Co.). The four companies were subsidiaries of a holding company called the White Pass and Yukon Railway Co. Ltd. In 1951 the British White Pass and Yukon Railway Co. Ltd. (WP&YR Co. Ltd.) was reorganized as a Canadian holding company, the White Pass and Yukon Corporation Ltd.1)
