June Raymond (b. 1943)

June Raymond was born in England and her family moved to Canada when she was eleven. By age fourteen, she was working at the Swift River Lodge full time. When the family moved to Whitehorse she operated the mangle iron on pillowcases at the old Whitehorse Inn. She was married at age sixteen. He parents moved to Haines Junction in the 1960s and opened the Cozy Corner Cafe. June and her mom cooked, and her father was the waiter until June and her husband took over the business. June was the president of the Whitehorse Golden Age Society from 2009 to 2014.¹⁾
