William Ryder (b. 1871)

William Ryder was born in England. When he enlisted for service in the First World War, he was a miner on Miller Creek.1) He owned claim No. 4 Above Discovery. An undivided interest was being worked by Mr. Bungate, Ryder’s partner, and a layman who was paying Ryder a percentage.2) Ryder returned to the Yukon in March 1919.3) He registered for light work employment with the Department of Soldiers’ Civil Re-Enlistment in March 1920. A June 1920 report shows that the Department of Soldiers’ Civil Re-Establishment helped W. Ryder applying for $100 to return to England. They also helped draw a bill of sale for a mining claim to Meredith and a mining claim to Kerve.4)
