Don Sippel (b. 1935)

Don Sippel was born in Ontario and worked on the family farm. He arrived in the Yukon in 1950 and was hired as a private driver for an Army major. Between 1955 and 1965, he was parts manager for the General Motors dealership. He joined the Whitehorse Fire Department as a volunteer in 1963 and then was full-time from 1966 to 1973. He started Yukon Salvage with two partners and then opened Happy Daze RV Sales and Services. Don met Penny Collins in Whitehorse and they were married in 1957. They raised three children: Donna, Cindy, and Paul. Don and Penny Sippel were named Mr. and Mrs. Yukon in 2023.¹⁾
