Ken Sylvestre (d. 2023)

Ken Sylvestre was born in the Yukon. He was a founding organizer of the Yukon River Trail Marathon and a long-time volunteer with the Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay.1) In 2002, Ken and son Ryan worked with Marg White and Linda Stratis to hand tabulate results of the bike relay in the basement of a church near the finish line.2) Ken was a dedicated volunteer with the Yukon Soccer Association and the Klondike Road Relay among other sport and recreational organizations.3)

Sylvestre owned Sorrento Systems, a small computer data management company in Whitehorse. He used his systems skills in his role as Vice-President of Information Technology for the 2007 Canada Winter Games and as Assistant Director of Communications and Information Technology for the 2000 Arctic Winter Games.4)

Ken Sylvestre was inducted into the Yukon Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.
