Neil Stewart (1865 – 1918)
Captain Neil Stewart was born in Glengarry County, Ontario. He was a former driver for the Dawson Fire Department, a pioneer teamster of Dawson, an employee of the North American Transportation and Trading Company and Yukon Gold. He was a member of the Dawson Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Dawson Odd Fellows. Neil Stewart drowned when the Princess Sophia sank in the Lynn Canal. His wife and son lived in Vancouver and had left Dawson a month before him.1)
