Sven “Fred” Swanson (~1885 – 1940)

Fred Swanson was a miner in the Mayo area in 1915-16.1) He started trapping in the area about 1920.2) He took over Bob Levac's trading post at Fraser Falls around 1937 and owned a cabin in Mayo.3) In October 1940, he was travelling to his winter cabin at No Gold, five miles above Fraser Falls, when his rifle accidentally discharged. The bullet pierced the palm and thumb of his left hand and he bled to death from the wound.4)
