William Steinberger (1866 – 1918)
William Steinberger was born in Victoria, British Columbia. He came to the Yukon in 1908 and lived in Dawson. He and his brother Fred mined on the Stewart River for twenty years. He travelled south on the Princess Sophia and died when the ship sank in the Lynn Canal. He was survived by his wife and three sons (Gordon, Franklin, and Rudolph) all living in Dawson. William Steinberger was a member of the Yukon Order of Pioneers.1)
