Gerry Thick (1944 - 2022)

Gerry Thick was the general manager of Northland beverages, the Yukon distributor of Pepsi products, and had been scheduled to retire at the end of April 2022, the month he died. He served two terms on the Whitehorse City Council in the later 1980s and into 1991. He was involved for thirty years, to 2014, with the Arctic Winter Games International Committee and was the president for the last twenty. He was a passionate supporter of local sports and was the coach of the Pepsi Jets fastball team in the 1980s. Gerry Thick was inducted into the Yukon Sport Hall of Fame in 1996 as a Builder.¹⁾
