Norbert “Tim” Twardochleb (1941 – 2014)

Tim Twardochleb was born in Saskatchewan He was an athlete in high school and played for the Raymore Rockets hockey team. He graduated as a psychiatric nurse in 1964 and worked as a recreation therapist. He and Audrey married in 1965. Tim worked as a recreation director at Nipawin and then Melville.1)

Tim and Audrey moved to the Yukon in 1977 when Tim became the Recreation Director in Faro. When the mine closed in 1984, they moved to Saskatoon where Tim was a recreation consultant for the Saskatchewan government. The couple moved back to the Yukon in 1998. Tim finished his career with Crime Prevention Yukon where he was instrumental in creating the Yukon chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving before he retired in 2004. Tim was a happy, loving man who went out of his way to connect with people and was a good storyteller.2)
