Vic Tubman (b. 1945)

Vic Tubman has volunteering in his blood. His father was a Mason, and his mother was involved in many community organizations.1) In 1989, Vic Tubman and the Lake Laberge Lions Club received a heritage award from the Yukon Historical & Museums Association.2) In the mid-1980s, Vic Tubman led the Lake Laberge Lions in a project to protect the historic Captain Martin House by moving it to Lepage Park and occupying it with deserving non-profit organizations.3)

In 1994, Vic was named Whitehorse volunteer of the year, number one in a list of forty-eight people honoured for their contributions to organizations. He gave a brief acceptance speech: “It is my life, I enjoy it. I just can’t think of anything I would rather do, and I am sure that is true of each and every one of you here.”4)
