Lorna Walmsley, nee Coldron (1920 - 1974)

Lorna Coldron was born in Dawson to Percy Coldron, a Klondike stampeder and member of the Yukon Order of Pioneers. Lorna was employed as a secretary by the Yukon Gold Corporation and later by the Dawson City Light and Power Company. She and Gordon Walmsley were married in 1950. After they moved to Faro she wrote history articles for the Whitehorse Star and The Alaska Magazine and many of her photographs were published. She was adventuresome and in 1973 she and her husband joined six others on a thirteen-day trip from Faro to Norman Wells by Skidoo. She liked to hunt and some of her trophies are displayed at the MacBride Museum in Whitehorse.1)
