Mark Wedge Aan Goosh oo
Mark Wedge is of Tagish, Tlinget, and Caucasian ancestry and belongs to the Deisheetaan [Beaver] Clan of the [Yeitl] Crow moiety. He has served as [Khà Shâde Héni] chief of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and executive director of the Council of Yukon Indians. He worked as a negotiator for several First Nations during the Yukon land claims negotiations. He was president and chair of the Yukon Indian Development Corporation and Dana Naye Ventures. He has also served with the National Roundtable on the Economy and Environment, Western Aboriginal Economic Development Board, National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association, and the National Aboriginal Business Association among other Indigenous and corporate boards. He is a consultant to governments and organizations in Canada and the United States. In 2021, he served on the Executive Leadership Team of the First Nations Bank of Canada.1) He is also a trustee of the Carcross Tagish Dánna Jíli Trust.
In November 2020, Aan Goosh oo Mark Wedge, Gàndałêch Pearl Callaghan, and Christine Mahar were appointed by the Yukon government to the Yukon University Board of Governors. The Yukon University Act came into effect in February 2020 and the Board was allowed an increase in the Board member from twelve to seventeen. This was to better represent key stakeholder and rights holder groups.2)
