Reginald “Ted” Wride
Dr. Ted Wride took his training as a doctor at the University of Western Ontario and worked as a pathologist in Vancouver before coming north. About 1929, The Wrides moved to Whitehorse from Atlin to take over supervision of the Whitehorse Hospital. Wride was the only doctor in the southern Yukon and would often make house calls using his dog team. The Wrides moved to Princeton, British Columbia in the early 1930s. Dr. Allan Duncan ran his medical practice in Whitehorse from 1935 to 1937.1)
