Sandy Wallis
Sandy Wallis, living in Dawson, volunteered to serve in the Second World War and he did not survive it. Harry Davies and Charlie Isaac volunteered from Dawson and Elijah Smith from Whitehorse. Carcross people were very aware of the war and a number of Carcross boys volunteered: Bobby Auston, George Sidney Jr. and his brother Peter Sidney, Alexander MacLeod and Malcolm MacLeod, Bobby Auston, and Edward Good. A few were turned down for medical reasons. Dick Johnson (Carcross) and Harry Davies (Dawson) did not survive.1)
