William Arthur Williams (1878 – 1919)

William Arthur Williams was born in London, England. In the Yukon, he worked on a riverboat out of Whitehorse.1) He enlisted for service in the First World War in Whitehorse in October 1916.2) Private Williams fought with the Yukon Infantry Company, later absorbed into the Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade. He was hospitalized with chest pains and evacuated to Canada where he died at the St. Andrews Military Hospital in Toronto. Williams was awarded the British War medal and the Allied Victory Medal.3)
