Zina Ekdahl (1935 - 2018)

Zina Ekdahl left Toronto for the Yukon in 1978. She was a trained artist who painted murals on the RCMP detachment and Transportation Museum buildings, and windows at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She had many art shows in Canada and the United States. She worked for the Yukon government as a gardener and grounds keeper. She ran art classes for children and adults, including berry and mushroom classes in season. She volunteered at the Whitehorse Humane Society and organized fund-raising dog jogs and dog wash days. She volunteered with Yukon Quest for many years. Zina spent her last eight years at Copper Ridge Place suffering from Alzheimer's disease.1)
